Nordic Nomads Farming Tour

Scandanavia 2008

More Greenmount Travel 2008 Farm Study Tours...

The Vikings struck terror into the hearts of the citizens of the known world a thousand years ago, but these days they are much friendlier. In fact they welcome tourists – and fact finding farmers – and do their best to help them enjoy this wonderful part of the world. Of course, Australia has already scored a foothold in the region through the exploits of our own Princess Mary, so we expect to be made especially welcome.
We tend to think of Scandinavia as a group of small icy countries at the top of the world. But they are much bigger than you think and are world leaders in many aspects of farming. The agricultural areas of Jutland in Denmark, southern Sweden and parts of Norway are highly productive and their farm technology is exported around the world.
Of course, the scenery and sights are also amazing. From wonderful Copenhagen to the majestic fiords of Norway, the views are breathtaking. And having come this far, crossing into the Arctic circle on the trail of polar bear, seals, reindeer, whales and other majestic wildlife, would seem entirely appropriate.
The three week Scandinavian tour is scheduled for July 2008.

Lloyd, Cathy Dave and Brian
