African Safari Farming Tour

Southern Africa 2008

More Greenmount Travel 2008 Farm Study Tours...

The first Greenmount Travel African Safari was eight years ago. Our intrepid band of great white hunters stalked the game across the veldt and bagged the ‘big five’ of Africa’s wild animals – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo. Of course, the wild game trophies are photos these days, but meeting up with these creatures, as well as some of southern Africa’s leading grain, cotton and sugar farmers, is an unforgettable thrill.
The three week tour in August will take in the farming and sightseeing highlights from the Cape through the Garden Route to Natal, Springbok Flats, Joh’burg and onto Victoria Falls.
Of course no tour of southern Africa is complete without visits to public game parks such as Kruger and some of the private parks owned by farmers diversifying their operations.
If there is sufficient interest we will also arrange visits to parks such as Chobe and Moremi in the Okavango River delta. August is the best time to visit for wildlife viewing and accessibility as 11 cubic km of pure water each year finally empties itself onto the sands of the Kalahari Desert. The Serengeti of Tanzania to the north and the Masai Mara Plains of Kenya – and the path of the awe-inspiring wildebeest migration – are also in our sights.

The three week Southern African tour is scheduled for August 2008.

Lloyd, Cathy Dave and Brian
